PreludeA night ago, I replied to an adult internet celebrity's conspiracy theory video which was especially disturbing because truth was interwoven with falsehoods (which made the presentation more persuasive) only for the facts to be subservient to misinformation. I emphasize that the video had the characteristics of a propaganda influencer though it was amateurish, not for lack of aesthetics, but due to the assertions' foundation being anchored to sand. Fortunately my anger over the speaker's assertions transformed into pleasant invigoration as I refuted my sibling in humanity's main claims with heartfelt kindness (despite the clinginess of my frustration) and reliable sources. What follows is my response... IntroHi ____________, We absolutely need nationwide media (including social media) literacy so every individual can better build one's own perspectives (whether those be conservative, moderate, or progressive) on substantiated truth rather than propaganda and conspiracy theories. Refuting Assertion #1: ProjectionsParaphrased Claim: Joe Biden isn't the President. The mainstream media doesn't decide elections but their sinister and anonymous overlords are directing a false narrative about who won the election. My Response: Joe Biden certainly isn't the president (yet) though he is the president-elect based on election results. The reasoning behind projections from mainstream news outlets are transparent to the public. Source: Ballotpedia's How do major media outlets declare winners? (2020). This resource is annotated with reliable and relevant links. Side Note #1: Shadowy GroupsBy the way dear readers, isn't it interesting that a variety of conspiracy theories have some type of secret national or international group succesfully pulling the strings to initiate and carry out our crises; succeeding every step of the way, while they convince the masses across the world (including professional investigative journalists, unless they're committed to the act too of course) that the cause of a tragedy is a singular something which is entirely different from the truth (while they are supposedly capable of keeping that ultra specific lie in place for years on end) as if we're in a film which would confound James Bond's megalomaniacs? Refuting Assertion #2: RiotersParaphrased Claim: Black Lives Matters (BLM) riots have been a major issue and riots are ripe to break out from Joe Biden supporters if the courts proclaimed that Donald Trump actually won. This is what the anonymous [liberal] mainstream media leaders want, after all they turned a blind eye to BLM rioters. My Response: Over 93% of BLM protests are peaceful according to a non-partisan study from The Armed Conflict Location & Event Data Project (ACLED), the results which are accurately represented by a TIME magazine article (where the link to the study is included). The overwhelming majority of the protests being non-violent also considers violence to be individuals tearing down statues but aren't antagonistic to any person, as well as other individuals blocking roads without being aggressive to anybody. Refuting Assertion #3: FraudParaphrased Claim: The Trump administration's lawsuits over widespread election fraud are reasonably legitimate. My Response: Our 2020 election results lack the surprise of being illegitimate. Here's a source showcasing the election's legitimacy, with annotations which will lead all truth seekers down the rabbit hole to substantiated facts: The New York post's Election Officials Directly Contradict Trump on Voting System Fraud by David E. Sanger, Matt Stevens, Nicole Perlroth, and Zolan Kanno-Youngs. Refuting Assertion #4: Al GoreParaphrased Claim: There's a precedent for the mainstream media falsely declaring a presidental winner. For instance, the Washington Times declared that Al Gore won the presidental election. My Response: The Washington Times front page which declared Al Gore as the winner of the 2000 Presidental election exists courtesy of photo manipulating shenanigans. Source: Snope's Was a 'President Gore' Headline Published by Washington Times in 2000? by Dan Evon. Side Note #2: The Washington TimesBy the way, considering The Washington Times as a mainstream media source is humour's inspiration. I'm not knocking the news agency for their quantity of committed readers (alas, the traffic on my blog is worthy of a ghost town, even with an absence of comparison to how many travelers visit the The Washington Times). The FinaleI wish you well _________________!
