Why do we have an economic system which not only allows poverty but enforces and thrives upon its existence so resources can be hoarded by the people who have been privileged by it and who maintain the system? Our Corporatized economy is inherently a human rights violation which defies the Constitution's unalienable rights to life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness for all.
Our government is capable of ensuring shelter and sustenance for everyone to live comfortably. Imagine a country where poverty is rendered extinct; a nation where we were liberated to pursue our dreams, whether they be in the arts, caretaking, construction, etc., instead of sacrificing our lives to any available jobs just to survive in tangible despondency (when we're able to win paid employment). What if competition to create the best products wasn't rooted in the looming threat of poverty, nor to its domain, but in freedom? Everyone would be liberated to share their talents, we'd be enabled to be phenomenally more productive, and our creations would finally be unleashed if our psyches were no longer imprisoned by the systemic jailer of destitution. ~ ~ ~ Visual Art by Cdd20.
