𝑾𝒐𝒏𝒅𝒆𝒓 𝑾𝒐𝒎𝒂𝒏 1984 is beautiful for its radiance of liberating selflessness which transcends the tried yet true trope of sacrificing one's life (the uplifting musical score is alluring as well), brave for its character driven plot, and loving for its portrayal of human affection. It is different in style than its magnificent predecessor yet it remains true to its spirit. 𝑾𝒐𝒏𝒅𝒆𝒓 𝑾𝒐𝒎𝒂𝒏 1984 is a patiently paced film which doesn't feature as much action (though the quality is adrenaline nurturing overall) as the first one though its messages of empathizing (including humanizing one's enemies without downplaying cruelty), and how the never-ending journey of greed by even one individual ripples out to influence and dehumanize other souls are implemented on an equitable scale to the tired epic fisticuffs which are often the culmination of superhero films' battles (I'm a fan of action though I prefer it to symbolize or otherwise be subservient to heroes and villains' emotive psychological fights).
I also find it refreshing that Wonder Woman's relatablility is partially due to her behaving with flaws and I appreciate that her being somewhat of a loner is depicted without resorting to the trope of being angsty (even when she's mourning). ~ ~ ~ If you enjoyed this film as I did then check out 𝑺𝒖𝒑𝒆𝒓𝒎𝒂𝒏 𝑹𝒆𝒕𝒖𝒓𝒏𝒔, the melancholic partner to 𝑾𝒐𝒏𝒅𝒆𝒓 𝑾𝒐𝒎𝒂𝒏 1984's optimistic spirit. It's also a rare superhero film due to its action being secondary to a compelling character driven narrative and rich themes. ~ ~ ~ The poster is from 𝑾𝒐𝒏𝒅𝒆𝒓 𝑾𝒐𝒎𝒂𝒏 1984's official promotional team.
