I always enjoyed the SpongeBob SquarePants show. However, I didn't realize how intelligent it was until my latter years. A special class of technique is necessary to weave stories which appeal equally to children and adults; as well as the immature and the mature within many of us. SpongeBob SquarePants fits that bill so its standing amongst the echelon of storytelling is deserved.
I contend that the 1990s is the Golden Age for Nickelodeon. The era gave birth to sensational tales besides the renown SpongeBob SquarePants yet those programs are somehow dissipating from the public consciousness; shows such as Rugrats, Doug, and Hey Arnold! Ps, did you know that SpongeBob SquarePants is still running? I may catch up with the new stories...but it will be after I go back to the beginning to experience the show with a new understanding.
